Add These 5 Metro Atlanta Unique Places For Yummy Eats!

I’ve grown up in the suburbs of Atlanta and always finding new, trendy spots to visit.  One thing about the south, is you can always find some good food!

As I venture out to local venues new to me, I’m amazed at what types of experiences are out there.  Not only do you get good food, but a lot of places also offer live music or just an overall unique dining experience that you won’t find elsewhere.

Velvet Note for Intimate Dinner and Live Jazz Music

I found out about this spot randomly. A friend and I were walking through Piedmont Park and ran into a woman that performs there regularly. She was so wonderful, and she invited us and it was such a wonderful experience!

The Velvet Note is a renowned jazz club in Alpharetta, just outside of Atlanta, offering live jazz performances and a fine dining experience.

This jazz club is also known for its dedication to supporting and nurturing emerging jazz musicians. The club regularly hosts open mic nights and jam sessions, providing a platform for aspiring artists to showcase their talent and collaborate with seasoned performers. Garden Room for a Whimsical Dinner Experience

I’m certain you’ve seen this restaurant posted all over social media.

The restaurant is known for its beautiful garden setting and fresh, seasonal menu.  I went in May of 2023 and made reservations about 3 weeks ahead of time.  Reservations are released periodically, so check regularly to try and grab a spot!

For dinner at the Garden Room, you can expect a variety of delicious dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. The menu changes regularly to showcase the best of what’s in season. I found everything we tried to be exceptionnally yummy!

The Garden Room also offers a cozy and romantic ambiance with its dim lighting, soft music, and comfortable seating. The restaurant is perfect for a special occasion or a romantic date night. a range of options to suit different tastes and dietary preferences.

The Gathering Spot for Drinks and Good Eats

The Gathering Spot is a membership-based community. It offers a space for those in the Atlanta area to work, eat, surround yourself by like-minded individuals, and of course, gather.

In fact, I am a member of The Gathering Spot. But, you do not need to be a member to enjoy their menu of drinks and food.

I have visited all Gathering Spot current locations – Atlanta, Washington D.C, and Los Angeles. I have never been disappointed in their food or drinks selections.

With a vibrant atmosphere and a focus on community, this establishment seeks to bring people together around delicious food and good company. Equally important, their menu features a range of culinary delights, showcasing both traditional and innovative dishes.

Again, if you’re looking for a casual evening out or a memorable dining experience, The Gathering Spot is the perfect spot to enjoy a meal with friends and loved ones.

Brunch at Breakfast at Barney’s

Breakfast at Barney’s is a highly popular brunch spot in Atlanta. Located in the trendy Westside neighborhood, this chic and modern restaurant offers a unique twist on classic brunch favorites.

The menu at Breakfast at Barney’s features a wide variety of delicious options to satisfy all tastes. From traditional breakfast dishes like pancakes, omelettes, and french toast, to more creative offerings like their signature breakfast 24k gold pancakes or soul rolls!

Also, due to its popularity, Breakfast at Barney’s can get quite busy, especially during weekends. It is recommended to make a reservation in advance to ensure a table. However, if you’re willing to wait, the delicious food and vibrant atmosphere are well worth it.

Brunch Buffet at Fork’s & Flavors

This one if for all of my North Georgia folks or those that are Kennesaw State University Students. Furthermore, as a local to the Kennesaw area or visiting, here’s another brunch spot that needs to be on your list!

I went for the first time in July of 2023 with a friend.  Fork’s & Flavors offers a delightful brunch buffet for those looking to indulge in a variety of delicious dishes.

The brunch buffet at Fork’s & Flavors is available every Sunday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The buffet is priced around $29.99 per person. You will get excellent value for the high-quality food and extensive options available. 

A great, southern brunch with good variety and a little of everything.  I’ll add that I went with a friend that is pescatarian, so she had no issues with having enough food to indulge in.

Finally, my only con with this location is that when I went for the Sunday brunch, the music was extremely loud.  I opted for sitting outside over inside.  Not a deal breaker, but definitely something to consider on your visit.
