Things You Need to Know Before Traveling to Egypt
March of 2017, I trekked over seas, across the pond, and through the dessert to Africa. After a mere 18 hour flight, I had arrived in the Land of the Pharaohs — Egypt. Visiting the continent of Africa was always on my list of places to go. I never thought I’d be able to afford it or have the opportunity to travel there. When the opportunity came about, I knew I couldn’t pass it up!
Egypt was my very first trip abroad flying and using my brand new passport! Before this trip, I had only ever been on a cruise to another country. I was such a novice and I had no clue what to expect. Even though I did pretty well for my first time and managed to do an 8 day, 7 night trip with only carry-on luggage (I am a carry on PRO!), there are still some things I wish I knew before I went.
Tips for Traveling to Egypt
My time in Egypt was truly amazing. There is so much I could say about my overall experience that I figured the best way to share was to break it down into smaller segments.
I created a guide that is split up into specific topics about the country. I put this together with the intent to share what I wish I had known before going and what I believe people need to know.
I’ll take you through my adventures in Cairo, Aswan, & Luxor and sail with me as we cruise the River Nile. We will discuss topics of what to wear as a female tourist, items that are a must to bring, a detailed 8 day itinerary and complete with a review of the tour company that made this escapade possible.
Start at the first topic, or choose any one of the topics below that is of most interest to you.
